Physically write down this signature before your trip. Cross-reference between this display and your written signature during your trip as a grounding technique.
Begin SessionThe TripSit tool cannot be a replacement for a trip sitter, but it is intended as a tool for anchoring or grounding during a trip. It does this by generating a random signature for the session to act as a guaranteed indicator of reality. The signature and start time are stored locally (unless your browser has cookies disabled), so the session is not lost even upon refresh or closing and reopening the page or browser.
More features and better functionality, including alternate signature types for better readability during a trip, will be added.
In the context of hallucinogen use, an anchor is an activity or physical object which keeps the user grounded during the heavy distortion of a person's sense of time, space, memory, and sense of self. At higher dosages, this can result in extreme disorientation and confusion. Anchors are often used to counteract this and maintain one's concept of the current situation as it is within reality.
Examples of anchors include:
Use one or more of the suggested anchors (or another type if you have a preference). Of particular note is the importance of physically writing the generated trip signature. Use this physical note as a reference against the signature on the screen to confirm that you are in reality.
The tool may need to be renamed (or I may choose to do so) because TripSit is already a well-known, reputable resource. I do not intend to conflate these, nor do I intend to lead anyone else to conflate them. However, until I have a better name to use, the name will remain unchanged.
